Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of this website. They do not govern tax-preparation, representation, or advisory engagements — those are governed by a separate signed engagement letter, as required by Circular 230.

Effective date: April 23, 2026

1. About these Terms

This website (matloobtaxandconsulting.com) is operated by Matloob Tax & Consulting, a sole-practitioner Enrolled Agent practice owned by Abdul H. Matloob, EA. By using the site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. No engagement, no legal or tax advice

Content on this site is provided for general information only. It is not legal or tax advice, does not create a tax-preparer or practitioner-client relationship, and should not be relied on for any specific transaction or filing position. An engagement begins only after a written engagement letter is signed by both parties, as required by Circular 230 §10.33 and our internal engagement SOP.

3. Sending a message

Submitting a form, email, or voicemail does not create an engagement and does not make the information you send confidential in the same way that information provided during an engagement is. Please do not send sensitive tax documents (for example, W-2s, K-1s, or Social Security numbers) until we confirm receipt of your request, agree to take the engagement, and provide our secure client portal for uploads.

4. Accuracy of information

We take reasonable care to keep information on this site current, but tax law changes frequently. Content is provided "as is" and we make no warranty that any deadline, form number, rate, threshold, or procedure remains accurate after publication. Always verify directly with the IRS (irs.gov) or the Massachusetts Department of Revenue (mass.gov/dor), or contact us about your specific situation.

5. Circular 230 disclosure

Any tax information contained on this site is not intended or written to be used, and cannot be used, for the purpose of avoiding penalties that may be imposed by the Internal Revenue Service. This disclosure is made in compliance with Circular 230, 31 C.F.R. Part 10.

6. Permitted use

You may view, download, and print content on this site for your own personal or internal business use. You may not (a) use the content to build a competing product or service, (b) systematically extract or mirror the site, or (c) remove copyright, trademark, or Circular 230 notices. All content, logos, and marks are the property of Matloob Tax & Consulting or our licensors.

7. Third-party links

The site links to third-party resources (for example, IRS forms, Massachusetts DOR pages, and professional organizations). We provide these links for convenience and do not endorse, control, or accept responsibility for their content or privacy practices.

8. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to use the site to (a) violate any law or regulation, (b) impersonate another person, (c) upload malicious code, (d) attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or client data, or (e) interfere with the operation of the site or our client portal. Violations may be reported to law enforcement.

9. Payments and fees

Fees for engagements are stated in a written engagement letter or fee schedule provided before work begins. Payments initiated through our client portal or a Stripe-hosted payment link are processed by our payment provider under its own terms. A payment alone does not create or modify an engagement.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The site and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither Matloob Tax & Consulting nor Abdul H. Matloob, EA will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of this site. Our total liability for any claim arising out of your use of the site is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Matloob Tax & Consulting, Abdul H. Matloob, EA, and any service providers from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your misuse of the site or your violation of these Terms.

13. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The "Effective date" above reflects the most recent version. Your continued use of the site after changes become effective means you accept the revised Terms.
